John Chapter 65 Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, āWhere are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?ā6 He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.7 Philip answered him, āTwo hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little.ā8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peterās brother, said to him,9 āThere is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?ā10 Jesus said, āHave the people sit down.ā Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.11 Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.12 And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, āGather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.ā13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. Luke Chapter 1912 He said therefore, āA nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, āEngage in business until I come.ā14 But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, āWe do not want this man to reign over us.ā15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business.16 The first came before him, saying, āLord, your mina has made ten minas more.ā17 And he said to him, āWell done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.ā Mark Chapter 634 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.35 And when it grew late, his disciples came to him and said, āThis is a desolate place, and the hour is now late.36 Send them away to go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.ā37 But he answered them, āYou give them something to eat.ā And they said to him, āShall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?ā38 And he said to them, āHow many loaves do you have? Go and see.ā And when they had found out, they said, āFive, and two fish.ā39 Then he commanded them all to sit down in groups on the green grass.40 So they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties.41 And taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven and said a blessing and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. And he divided the two fish among them all.42 And they all ate and were satisfied.43 And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish.44 And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men. Matthew Chapter 1413 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns.14 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.15 Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, āThis is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.ā16 But Jesus said, āThey need not go away; you give them something to eat.ā17 They said to him, āWe have only five loaves here and two fish.ā18 And he said, āBring them here to me.ā |
