Acts Chapter 223 āI am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated at the feet of Gamaliel according to the strict manner of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God as all of you are this day. Acts Chapter 264 āMy manner of life from my youth, spent from the beginning among my own nation and in Jerusalem, is known by all the Jews.5 They have known for a long time, if they are willing to testify, that according to the strictest party of our religion I have lived as a Pharisee.6 And now I stand here on trial because of my hope in the promise made by God to our fathers, Deuteronomy Chapter 118 āYou shall therefore keep the whole commandment that I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and take possession of the land that you are going over to possess,9 and that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey.10 For the land that you are entering to take possession of it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated it, like a garden of vegetables.11 But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven,12 a land that the LORD your God cares for. The eyes of the LORD your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.13 āAnd if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,14 he will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.15 And he will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.16 Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them;17 then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and he will shut up the heavens, so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no fruit, and you will perish quickly off the good land that the LORD is giving you.18 āYou shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.19 You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy Chapter 45 See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the LORD my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, āSurely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.ā7 For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?8 And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?9 āOnly take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your childrenās childrenā10 how on the day that you stood before the LORD your God at Horeb, the LORD said to me, āGather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.ā Proverbs Chapter 226 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. |
