Luke Chapter 101 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.2 And he said to them, āThe harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road.5 Whatever house you enter, first say, āPeace be to this house!ā6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you.7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you.9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, āThe kingdom of God has come near to you.ā10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say,11 āEven the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.ā12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.13 āWoe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more bearable in the judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.15 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You shall be brought down to Hades.16 āThe one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.ā Luke Chapter 121 In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, āBeware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.2 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.3 Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.4 āI tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God.7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.8 āAnd I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God,9 but the one who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.11 And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say,12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.ā Luke Chapter 91 And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.3 And he said to them, āTake nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics.4 And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart.5 And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.ā6 And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Luke Chapter 922 saying, āThe Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.ā23 And he said to all, āIf anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.27 But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.ā Luke Chapter 944 āLet these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.ā45 But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying. Mark Chapter 67 And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.8 He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staffāno bread, no bag, no money in their beltsā9 but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.10 And he said to them, āWhenever you enter a house, stay there until you depart from there.11 And if any place will not receive you and they will not listen to you, when you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them.ā12 So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent.13 And they cast out many demons and anointed with oil many who were sick and healed them. Mark Chapter 831 And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again.32 And he said this plainly. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.33 But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, āGet behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.ā Mark Chapter 930 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know,31 for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, āThe Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.ā32 But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him. Matthew Chapter 105 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, āGo nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, Matthew Chapter 1621 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, āFar be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.ā23 But he turned and said to Peter, āGet behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.ā24 Then Jesus told his disciples, āIf anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.ā Matthew Chapter 1722 As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, āThe Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men,23 and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.ā And they were greatly distressed. |
