Description
Two men have come to the temple to pray. One prays out of his own self-importance and his own righteousness and the other out of a sense of his own need. The Pharisee is pleased to be better than the tax collector. The Pharisee holds up his hands to the heavens with his eyes open. The tax collector's eyes are closed and his head is bowed. The tax collector is painfully aware of his sin.
