Description

Since Adam and Eve were created with free will, the Lord devised a divine test of obedience using a Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and Satan disguised as a serpent. Obeying God would bring eternal life; disobeying God would bring banishment and death. They were told not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve was tempted by the serpent, disobeyed God, and ate the fruit. Adam also had to choose and he ate the fruit. They became sinners and their fellowship with God was severed.
