Banishment From Paradise

Adam and Eve depart the Garden of Eden clothed in garments of skin, their faces turned away in grief as the way back is guarded by heavenly sentinels. Behind them, a lush paradise of palms, flowers, and cascading water is blocked by two radiant angels, one holding a flaming sword and the other standing with a drawn blade. The scene portrays the solemn aftermath of the Fall, when humanity is driven from Eden after disobedience and barred from the tree of life. In Genesis 3, judgment and mercy stand together: sin brings exile, yet God covers the man and woman before sending them out. This artwork is suited for teaching on creation, the Fall, original sin, divine holiness, judgment, mercy, and the beginning of the Bible’s redemption story.
