Plot that Failed

Paul the apostle rides under Roman guard after a conspiracy in Jerusalem has been exposed. A helmeted soldier leads the mounted escort while Paul, cloaked and watchful, is carried away from danger toward Caesarea. Behind them, spear-bearing troops suggest the protective force ordered by the Roman tribune after Paul’s nephew revealed the ambush planned by more than forty men.

The scene reflects Acts 23, where the Lord’s promise that Paul would testify in Rome begins to unfold through unexpected protection. The failed plot does not stop Paul’s mission; God uses even Roman authority, night travel, and military escort to preserve His witness. This artwork serves well for teaching on providence, courage, missionary perseverance, persecution, and God’s sovereignty over hostile circumstances.
