Plan of Redemption

Eve stands beneath the fruit of the forbidden tree as the serpent coils close beside her, capturing the moment of temptation in Eden. Around the vision, radiant heavenly witnesses look on from the clouds, their attention fixed on the choice that will bring sin and death into the human story. The composition presents the Plan of Redemption from a heavenly perspective: the Fall is not shown as an isolated act, but as the sorrowful beginning of mankind’s need for a Savior. The serpent’s nearness to Eve and the surrounding celestial observers point to the spiritual conflict behind Genesis 3 and to the promise that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent’s head.
